Now that the new ARC site is up and running, we'll try and chronicle some more projects here.
If you've traveled to the different public aquariums around the world, you've likely see some new and tons of old aquariums. As you can imagine, most facilities are in desperate need of upgrades.
Luckily, that just so happens to be where we specialize! Here's a project that's currently being installed domestically on a 9,000 gallon saltwater system. The current filtration is severely lacking with a grossly under-performing protein skimmer and a life support plan that was frankly, shameful!
As with many of these facilities, there's access issues, as life support was a complete after thought and a plan for future upgrades/replacements was a non-thought. We customized one of our industrial fractionators to fit their limited height. This beast usually stands 10' tall, but was modified to just under 8' We'll feed this skimmer at a rate of 150 GPM.

What good is an upgrade if you don't upgrade the filtration sump!? Our iSump is a popular model for public aquariums and high-end residential projects alike. This 16' monster is 1,800 gallons.
It features an XL Filter sock chamber with inset lid, our moving-bed bio-chamber, and our 2,080 watt integrated high-output UV!

Due to the limited space, the media reactors had to be in-sump. Our 5' tall FMC-1260i industrial media reactors lock into place, preventing them from moving or floating up during media changes.

Years of planning and designing go into projects like these. While we do many projects in between, these monsters are some of favorites as they post challenges that keep us on our toes.
What upgrades do you guys have in the works?
