What is the difference in wet skimming and dry skimming and wich one is better?

Skimming wet is when you're pulling out a greater quantity of water than you are when you skim dry. It really depends on your situation and preference as to which you should choose.

Generally speaking skimming wetter will remove more nasties from the tank than skimming dry. More of a hassle though as you have to empty collection cups more often and top off more.

Actually it's very easy to skim wet with a beckett skimmer.

Just keep in mind that you are losing some salt along with the sludge.

Finally got my super skimmer dialed in and it is skimming some nasty skimate... Just thought I would.share.. Rather happy about it lol

I guess this would be considered "wet". I consider it nasty.
