OK I decided to go with T5 lighting for my tank.
What brand of fixtures or retrofit should I buy?
I also do understand that the reflector is just as important as the ballast so I am only looking for parabolic reflectors.
Thanks for the input.

We checked out Wavepoint at the trade show a couple of weeks ago, and we ordered a fixture to play with. I was very impressed with their reflectors. I should have the unit I ordered tomorrow if anybody wants to check it out.

Price point isn't bad either.

Jenn just got an ATI Sunpower for me. Here's my thread.

I can speak to the Aquactinics Constellation 7 lamp. Very well made.. great individual reflectors with active cooling.

I like it a LOT.

I have the 48"

TEK (Sunlight Supply) T5 Six bulb here....great product...solidly constructed.

BTW I have stand alone, not retro, although I hear their retros are similar.

ATI PM is at the top of the food chain from what i understand. Ive talked to folks on RC that have tested the par and gotten more from the 6 lamp ATI than a 8 TEK.

Wish I had a Par meter. I just got a Wavepoint 36" 4-lamp fixture and it's freaking nice too. Not as sharp looking as the ATI but the reflectors in it are kick-butt.

That ATI was the Cadillac ;) The Wavepoint I think is a great bang for the buck - price-wise it's considerably less than the ATI, but I think the quality is there.

I wish the Wavepoint had integrated timers and moon lights. That would make it even better!

AHHH.. found ... looks like around $350.00. Would be fun to have though.. particularly if you lived around other reefers :)

Could do a real life study on fixture par.. particularly with T5 vs MH. Would be nice to have FIRST hand answers u know..
