I have a 29g w/20g tall refugium a pr of clowns, watchman & tiger shrimp and flame hawk(I has a little 6-line wrasse that I lost after 2 years). They all got along great! I had a HOB skimmer for 2-3 years moved it to a different tank. For the last 3 years I have taken care of it with weekly water changes and a fug full of chaeto, bag half full of carbon/gfo. I have a 20l pipe fish/soft coral tank that I do the same way except I have a simple filter I put carbon in or just plane filter media. These tanks do not run as clean as the ones with skinners. I have t-5s on the 29g because I have corals that need better lighting and CF on the pipefish and Xenia, recordia tank.
Equipment for a 29g is very basic. However, this could all change with the concept of a "breeding pair of clownfish". Do you intend to breed and raise the young? Equipment requirements will change considerably.
id say at a minimum if u dont want to drill it, a canister filter, hang on skimmer, heater,
a decent light and timer, and wait for quite awhile before you get the anemone.
