I see the term "nuke" alot and im just curious to what exactly it means.:stupid:

One way is to have a critter die and you don't notice. Your take will become ground zero.

Lots of ways to "nuke" a tank.

(Term comes from "nuclear' as in 'nuclear meltdown' in case you weren't familiar with that).

Some ways that come to mind that I've seen/dealt with over the years:

Heater malfunction - tank overheats

Toxin introduction - Windex can wreak havoc, there are lots of toxic things that can wipe out a tank if they get into it. Hand lotion is another good one.

Cuke Nuke... Sea Cucumber of a toxic variety, gets picked on or drawn into a mechanism, and eviscerates its internal organs and toxins into the tank. That one never ends well. Not every specie of cucumber is toxic to the point where it can wipe out a tank, but the particularly colourful ones usually are.

Attack of the Tank Sitter: Inexperienced tank-sitter interpreting "half a cube of food, every other day" as half of the 8-ounce flat-pack of fish food in the freezer, that was on top of the blister-pack of fish food.

Power Failure - just wait a while....

Sabotage - people in volatile relationships have found all kinds of ways to extract revenge on their estranged significant others... pour in some bleach or other chemical of choice and it's all over but the crying.

I'm sure there are more ways, those are the ones that came off the top of my head.

Holy Shinola!!!!

Sad... but true...

Last week someone's "estranged significant other" smashed 2 heaters and left them on and in the sump :(

Certainly grounds for breaking off an engagement. :Flush:
