What fish for a frag tank?

Sounds simple to do, actually. I might steal - I mean borrow - your idea for my zoa frag tank.

Go a little more exotic and check out getting a four line. By November a store should be able to get one for you. Algae control= just get snails.

Yeah, really good looking and good use of the real estate.

Thanks. I managed to make the top deeper to fit the lines of the back wall, and I wanted it to be open and allow room for me to pick up knocked over frags. There is also a bit of space at the front of the tank for stuff on the sandbed as well. I'm still trying to decide on a pump for the tank. I really want an MP10...again, maybe Xmas...

I didn't create the design, just googled "frag rack design" and took what I found and made it fit my tank.

edit: I'm not putting a Tang in a 24g tank that has huge racks of eggcrate...

GOOD IDEA... I like the setup..

Imo, all frags should be medicated & cleared of pests before entering the frag tank. Otherwise, you're just controlling the pests while in your tank only to pass them on to the next reefer.

I have a bottle of Coral RX, a bottle of Lugol's, and a bottle of Revive, for dipping corals. Anything else you'd recommend?

I buy a huge bottle of iodine at Wally (or any pharmacy). It's really cheap & kills just about anything in a super strength solution (very dark solution).

Furan2, interceptor, flatworm exit or levanose, a small brush & tongs & your kit should be complete. For softies, rodi works wonders.

I do multiple treatments (now). I start with a fw dip (on zoas) and follow up with a stout dose iodide (lugols) dip, scubbing with the brush where I can. Then, a dip in fw exit & the zoa is ready for action. I'll only use furan if the zoa has zoa pox. For sps I do the same except no fw dip, no furan & always an interceptor dip.

If anything survives that, you're in trouble!
