So I have reached a point where I am not sure what is next, at least, as it pertains to fish. I have a 40 gallon breeder that I have tried to be very patient with, at least when it comes to fish. I want to be very careful to not overload the system and if and when I do get another fish, I would like for it to be somewhat planned and not an impulse buy.

I currently have:

2 clownfish
2 Chromis
1 Firefish
1 Six Line Wrasse (love this fish)
2 Peppermint Shrimp
1 Emerald Crab (love this crab, so far)

Here is pic. I am not completely sure of how much LR there is but it is at least 60lbs.

Anyway, just looking for some ideas...

What filtration do you have? How often are you able to do water changes?

Aquamaxx HOB Skimmer and AC70 HOB.
Water changes are weekly usually 3 gallons

I have had bad experience with hawkish... They like to have shrimp for dinner alot. Have u thought about adding a rbta for ur clowns . Adds nice movement and color

+1 on hawks. And all is true. I've had 3 over the past 10 years and loved everyone of them. A pixie and two different arc eye If you get one try for it to be the last addition and as small as you can find. I had a 1.5" arc eye and he was a little ****** but he did live peacefully with a established cleaner shrimp for bout three years.

I do like the Hawkfish but have some concerns about the shrimp. I guess its a roll of the dice sometimes. As far as BTA's, I am not sure I am ready for that. I still have a couple of tank things that need to be done before going there.

I think the goby and shrimp would work out pretty good. Any issues with the pistol and peppermints?

Edit:

I really haven't looked for Hawkfish but the ones I have seen are 2"+. Is that a normal size from a LFS?

In that small of a confinement the 666line would kick the mess out of the yellow or any other wrasse
