What has Alan been up to...

Well I am sure that everyone has been wondering where I have been? Here is the story behind my project. As some of you know I have been moving from Woodstock to Ackworth the past few weeks. During the move I decided to upgrade tanks to a 180RR. Long story short the wife hated the 8ft 180RR. So I bought an AGA 120RR. After most of the stuff was moved over. I started building another custom L&A stand. Lee has come over a few times to help out. Thanks man. it is 35.5 inches from the bottom of the aquarium to the floor. A perfect viewing heigth from either sitting or standing. The stand is almost finished. Monday it should have rock in it cycling. I am also chaniging sumps and other things but I will update later in the project. Here are a few pics of the build so far.

Are you going to seal the bottom inside of the stand with epoxy or something similar? I wish mine was sealed.

Maybe. The sump and other equipment will be in another room behind the aquarium. A fish room if you will. LOL. The only thing that will be in the stand is the Tunze controller.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! MH Maybe. I have T-5's that I like alot. So I may just overdrive them. They have treated me well over the past year.

A few more updates. I added the last piece to the bartop. I also installed a Filter Guys OceanReef plus 1 RODI unit. It is a wonderful unit. I tested it and it works great. The instructions are clear and everything is well marked. I would buy from them again! Here are some pics from tonight.

LOL. Well I am waiting for a mysterious stranger to come and drink my beer and help me move the stand to the workshop so I er WE can stain it LOL.

Today I did some work on the 120. I stained the stand and put a light coat of semi gloss poly on it. The stain is "Red Mahogany" Here are some crappy shots. LOL.
