What is the best bubble algae eater?

Where have you been? I haven't seen you post recently.

Should I just flip a coin? :) heads says crabs, tails says rabbit fish.

Edit: Looks like I need to find a rabbitfish. Tails won.

does anyone have any experience with the 2 bar rabbit eating bryopsis?
I have been fighting bryopsis outbreak for 3 months now and after nearly a month of running mag at 1800 and above using the famed Kent Tech M with no results except rapidly taking over every rock in my 150 I am desperate to try anything that doesn't entail tearing down my complete display. Have to many rocks with glued coral or encrusting corals that are truly encrusting.

Bill, I had a fox face that nibbled at bryopsis. He prefered the bubble algae.

I would try an agressive starvation of the nutrients for algae growth. Ralph will probably elaborate. ;)

2 bar will eat it though you will have to train it to eather by hand feeding it or placing it in the alge clip
the gold spot are the best with byro control but git 16"~26" and grow fast

I just ordered 14 emeralds yesterday to try and get some of my bubbles GONE.

This bubble algae is weird.. it will pop up when no other algae will

a while ago there was a TOTM at RC that was a NPS.. INCREDIBLE tank, but ya I remember reading that he ran a chiller and fed like nuts.

it would be worth trying to dig that one up

Edit: here it is... very cool.. very awesome

nps are a challenge to maintain you have to feed a lot all the time most with nps run gfo and lathanium cloride along with skimmers rated 10x tank volume. along with auto wc systems that run daily. proper flow is the real hard part with them

the tank im setting up is just a 40 dt plumed in to a 150 gal sump ill do a build thread wen i git the bugs worked out

I am going to try turning the lights off for a few days to see if that might help, just checked mag level and it is right at 2050 so it should be plenty high enough. I know I have gone thru 3 - 16oz bottles and 1 half gallon jug in my 150 how much more tech m do I need to buy?

wow thats high are you still able to maintain alk

Alk is good Calcium is good and I believe the Red Sea Kit is WRONG
I tested with sea chem and api and both came in around 1800 but I have been at 1600 and above for over a month now and all this stupid bryopsis is doing is getting healthier and spreading.
Hate to think about having to pull out a all the rock in my tank and lose some really nicely growing coral that is either glued or encrusting but this junk is taking over my tank.

Just to give a little update on my bubble algae situation:

I've added 5 more emeralds about a week ago. I can finally start to see the algae diassappear.

Where did you pick up the Emeralds? Heyyyy maybe you are the reason I can't find any!:D

I picked them up from a buddy's shop. Most sponsors should have them. Where have you checked?

Creations & Imagine Ocean. Both were out of stock each time went in.

The shops in my area generally have em stocked. Pure reef or sea probably has some. They are closer to you than the shops up i85

Yeah will provably try Pure Reef when I get back in town. I haven't been to Sea yet, and with the fish he shows on here...it is probably a good idea. I would go nuts in that store.:D
