So, what Saltwater creatures have you kept alive the longest? What was their cause of death if they died? What do you have currently that has longevity? Was it store bought? Internet? Aqua-cultured? Mari cultured? Wild? Please leave comments!

I had a cleaner shrimp for 5 years and a colony of green poly's as of today there about 11 years. In fact they were the very first coral I ever bought!

Not sure if this counts, but I've had my Rose Bubble Tipped Anemones and a Black and White Clownfish since at least the summer of 2004. The RBTA came from a hobbyist who had it for at least a year, while the B&W clownfish came from a different hobbyist who had it since at least 2001.

We also have a Christmas Wrasse that we got in 2005 from Cap Bay.

Ive had my pair of Pep shrimp for over a year now and still growing and eating!

'ell yeah it counts!!

We have had a pajama cardinal for like a year and a half. He has survived us moving the tank to a different house twice, also upgrading to a larger tank.and a mandarin, and highfin for a year now.

Clown pair - first fish I bought when we were building the store. 9 1/2 years now.

Blue tang... took it in to "babysit" in July 2002. Keeper had it for 4 years at that point... I've had it over 9 now. Its buddy died about 6 years ago for unknown reasons.

My big green chalice... started as a tiny frag, 6 years ago.

If you count stuff in tanks we maintain, BTA I put in Jan. 15 2001 (plus 9 daughters we've removed). Frogspawn since April 2002, Fungia since April 2002. Plus who knows what else that's well over 5 years old (I've lost track).

Observation: Most of the answers are in the 1-5 year range. I wonder how many of those fish are still alive, but not yet reaching the 5 year mark to move into the next category.

have a sailfin tang that is 10 years old, powder blue 7-8 years, pair of clown fish 10 years old, (sailfin and clownfish purchased on same day)

I've had my clowns for 6 years and they were 7 years old when I got them from someone else. My foxface was young when I bought him, but he is alive and well at 6 years old. I had a dragon goby for 2 years and he mysteriously died. My favorite story is my blue chromis (bob). I bought 5 not knowing their history. Within a week, 4 are dead. Bob is about 4 years old now and loving it. My other fish are all under 3 years old

I've owned a pj cardinal for over two years that I know
Is at least 6 yrs old (was in display at lfs I worked for when it leaked). And I've have a sailfin tang for over 3 years that was caught in captivity. I don't know how old my other fish are but not as old as these two
