Zoa has down well but it looks like some sort of sponge taking it over. The Zoa appears to be growing out of the stems. Not for sure if this is normal but I haven't been able to see it anywhere else.

I have the same thing on my nuke greens and they never bother the zoa. I think you'll be ok.

It is a sponge, however, I have found that when sponges surround the zoas like that, it makes it very difficult for the zoas to multiply.

Thanks everyone. It showed ip around the same time pineapple sponges started to appear in my sump and overflow. It seems to be doing ok although some heads disappear as it grows and some surface later. It seems to be adapting by shifting onto another part is the rock.

Thanks again.

ive got those sponge groing on my rock and some green ones inbetween some acans..i love them...mine aroubd 5 times that big now..they start shooting off little feeler sponges too which is cool

Introduced a flame angel. Later I realized sponge is part of its diet. Only took a few days before that sponge was completely gone. Now the zoa has some room to breathe again.
