What is this?

Hoping ya'll can help me identify something growing on my rock. It's sharing a rock with an anemone currently. Thought maybe it was a sponge but it has been growing steadily so wanted to ask ya'll. Anyhow I have a picture, hope it is clear enough. Thanks in advace

Yep. I used to have a ton of it, but my tuxedo urchin decided that he liked tha way sponge tastes.

Thanks guys. Thought it was a sponge. kind of weird since I started with all dead rock. Is there any reason to remove it?

rofl... I thought urchin's like the way everything in the tank tastes?
I was going to get one until I heard that they will pretty much eat everything down to the Coralline on therocks and walls.
