Down in Destin, FL for the weekend and just got back in from crab hunting. Lots of seaweed and no crabs, but we did catch these interesting guys. Since I'm the fish expert, everyone looked to me for an ID. I'm posting on my phone so I'll reply with more pics. For size reference, this guy would fit on a dime.

Our bucket o' life. Everything was released back to the water after pics. No casualties.

the small kind..

tell them its a meterocondis-shrinkis... (they'll never know the difference) :)

Matted fielfish, Acreichthys tomentosus. I caught several as well. My 4 year old son forced me to bring one back. He's twice the size that he was only 2 months ago. So far, he hasn't picked on any corals, but he's crazy aggressive. He bites me when I put my hand in the tank. Not sure if he's curious or trying to protect his turf.

Edit: This is the best ID I could find.

Well, its surely not that, Matt. They are Indo pacific, not Caribben. Juveniles surely congregate in the grasses, so its difficult to make a ID. Possibly a fringed file (Monacanthus ciliatus)</em>
