What kind of Skimmer is this?

As title states... Any ideas on what name brand skimmer this is. I'm trying to get more details on it. Also what else is needed to use it? Links would be great. Thanks in advance.

It looks like an older MR-C skimmer and all you need is a pump, and a piece of tubing for the air line.

Ive search all those name brands and I still cant seem to local it. I'm trying to see what its rated at? how much they sell for? things of that nature.

Edit: The closest looking thing I can find is a AquaC

Back in the 90's there was a guy locally that made them (Tom Kloth w/ Aquatecture?). Looks like one of his, as I had one for a smaller tank too. I remember he used Kent venturis to inject the air, which looks like this one has been modded since.

Soak it in diluted white vinegar, give it a scrub, and it will look like new.

It's not an MRC for sure. Looks like a DIY skimmer.

Agree that it has some similarities to an AquaC (I have 2 different models of AquaC). The black base certainly looks like aquac for sure, but missing standard air intake hole/fitting and optional/standard ozone intake (john guest). The tower looks DIY - definitely not aquac tower.

I'd guess you've got a diy skimmer. Any shot of the spray nozzel? That would confirm the aquac base.

I agree that it looks like a Tom Kloth skimmer. I have a bunch of them. He cloned the likes of ETSS and such. I have one that's very similar but perhaps a bit bigger. The downdraft style is old-school but still works very well.

I have one exactly like this and still using it. I brought it from The Fish and More around 10-15 years ago. I think the brand is called aquatecture or something.

MRC Skimmers will have a beckett injector.. most other people's skimmers that look like MRC's DONT have becketts..


(no beckett injector on this skimmer)

I may have sold it to you! I used to work there from 94-97 (everything from aquarium maintenance to saltwater manager)
