What kinds of mushrooms are these?

Thanks :) That's really good advise. I'm going to try that! Look at this one below. Its quadrupled in size. Bigger than my hand now. Wonder just how large this one will get?

Nice! They can get pretty big! Some days they look bigger than other days. Dont really know why.. feed him he will grow :)

I love your signature btw :) Just one more lol..thats what I keep telling myself too. It's so much fun picking out interesting things to plop in our tanks :) I have really enjoyed the whole experience & am so happy I decided to do a reef tank. There is noting any prettier or amazing to watch!

if it has two mouths it will probably split :) My mushrooms never split they just make new ones beside them, but I know they can split too.. yup it's a lot of fun, and then when you get too many just get a bigger tank lol. I think I am as big as I'm going to go for a while at 110 g, I'll give extras away if I get to that point :)

although... I have a pink and purple ric that has about 5 mouths and hasn't split yet.. It is just all ruffled looking..

Those are lovely & pink & purple sounds gorgeous. I dont have any ricordia yet. Hopefully sometime soon I can snag some. What are those hard corals that sit flat on your sanbed? I can almost say their name but it just escapes me right now. I would like to find one of those which is going to be pretty hard to do if I cant remember what they are called lol

a chalice can sit on the sand bed but can also encrust a rock I believe.. I don't have any..

I'm not sure..WIll have to go find a pic of the ones I liked. Boy this one is a pretty Ric

Wonder if any members have these for sale. I dunno anything about the Ric's. Can they even be fragged?

they can be cut in half kinda like a nem, or you can cut it halfway from the edge of the mouth to the outside and it will split and make another..
That ric is pretty but I saw one the other week at a LFS that was bright neon orange! I wish I had bought it then because when I went back to get it it had already sold :( I'm sure you can find the green one pretty easy and not real expensive..

Plate coral maybe?

oh yea.. those are nice. I've been wanting one too. The lfs had one but it looked like it had been stung many times.. you can find them with long tentacles too!

but, from what I read, the plates can walk around the sand bed until it's happy kinda like a nem and can sting any corals it nestles up against.. so you have to be careful with them..

Grouper did you see how bug that mushroom has grown? The goby is abour 4 inches for size comparison. Yes, I love those plates!

I had no idea! It's a good thing you told me before I do get one :)

just make sure you don't have anything down at sand level and it should be fine.. They can't inflate and float around like a nem so you can create a safe zone..

wow, I just found some of those long tentacle ones you were talking about. Those are really cool looking & not too expensive either.

yea, it's almost like having a nem without the hassles of getting them stuck in the PH or walking all over your corals :)
