I usually hook up my RODI once a week to a hose outside and make all of my water for changes and top off for the week. Well this week I forgot to disconnect the RODI and store it in the garage like normal. Last night I realized it and brought it into the laundry room. 3 of the 4 thick plastic filter housings had cracked and or broken. I called Air, Water, Ice and replacements are on the way. :(

Ah, sorry to hear. Not much can withstand this frigid artic cold that's for sure. Any other day would be fine, just not today or tomorrow .

Ouch... out of curiosity did the freezing mess up the RO membrane? Never had it happen to me, at least not yet.

That's a bummer I had to go get an adapter from Home Depot last weekend to move the operation inside. Hose was frozen solid. The wife wasn't too happy about it though lol

I found that the best place for my RODI unit was in the laundry room. I used a garden hose T (with shutoffs) on the cold water side for my water hookup and then ran the waste water down the same drain as the washing machine. I got an auto shut off kit and put the float valve in a brute trashcan. Now I can just roll the can over when I need to make some water and roll it out when I'm done.

I hear ya, mine is pretty cool about it until I have an ro running in the downstairs bathroom out into the garage lol whoops

Sucks dude!

My wife is fairly accommodating. I get to leave water change buckets out in front of the tank for at least a day before she says something to me lol!

Haha that's OCD for ya. If my house isn't spotless she can't sit still. I have to lay down the law every now and then. It helps because the kids are on my side with the tank, she loves it too but hates the maintenance. Can't have a nice looking tank if you don't take care of it!

+1.

I know you all think I have no heart but now I have an ultrasound to prove it. :-)
