I've got my sump out for some modifications so now would be the time to change my UV if I should. Currently I have a Gamma 15w on the tank but I also have a Coralife 36w available. To put the Coralife unit in place will take a few modifications but as I said, now is the time because I have free working room. My tank is a 93 cube with a 15g sump. Which one would you use and why?

Gamma, my last coralife leaked all over and blew my circuit...lost power to the tank for 10 hours before I got home...

Ok.... so somebody help me with the math relative to Chris' posting. According to the specs on the Gamma unit....it's output in microwatts/cm at 1M is 34. How do I convert that to uWs/cm2?

Max. Flow @ 30000µw sec/cm2: 700 gph

336,000 to kill ich

336,000/30,000=11.2

700gph/11.2=62.5gph

Edit: ps got the Max. Flow @ 30000µw sec/cm2: 700 gph from marinedepot here:

if that is the one you have

Edit: if you arent trying to kill ich which is the hardest to kill then you can run it with a pump at a higher gph...with UV the lower flow pump is usually better
