What to do when large plug is blocking other plug sockets???

It sounds like he is just creating clearance for a clunky wall-wart to fit up to a power strip. Since most of those wall-warts are 2-prong, should be no issue. Most, but not all, mind you.

If the load doesn't have/NEVER HAD a ground prong, none is needed in the adapter. Now, you would be absolutely right if a 3-prong load cord were being adapted to 2-prong - that is</em> a no-no, especially around water!
