So I just got done treating my tank with prazipro. And as I was told it would by jenn, my skimmer is now going berzerk. After doing a good water change, I turned back on my uv, added carbon, and skimmer. Now the skimmer cup fiils in 10 minutes or so.

What to do? Just keep pouring the water back? Over and over? Or turn the skimmer off and wait a few days?

Turn it off and try again in the morning/afternoon. It's not going to hurt to have it off for awhile.

I should also add that I have already turned the knob and slowed it down the most I could.

I usually cut the skimmer off on the day that I do the treatment (such as red slime remover). After a day or so I will turn the skimmer back on and slowly dial it back up to the original level.

Well I did have it cut off for 6 days while I was treating my tank.

That's a good point. I did put a little extra water in after my water change.

I thought you close it, not open it, to create less bubbles though.

I'm assuming your skimmer is in the sump. You may want to check your water level in your sump. Many times, your water level in your sump maybe a little higher than normal which could caused your skimmer to overskimmed.
Also, you could consider open the valve in your skimmer a bit. That should help with your over skimming problem.

....

If I remember correctly, the directions on the product (prazipro) It states that your skimmer must remain off for a week and possibly two weeks. This is very similar to the red slime remover. There is something in the product that causes insane micro bubbles in your skimmer and there isn't any way you will be able to turn your skimmer on and have it running properly while the treatment/chemical is still in the water. I have always just let the treatment run its course, then do a normal water change and turn on my skimmer after the water change and have had no issues after that.

Directions For Use:
For treatment of praziquantel-susceptible disease conditions in pond, freshwater and marine aquariums.
As A Bath: Start treatment with as large a water change as practical or start with new water. Any water used should first be conditioned with ULTIMATE® or a combination of Liquid Buffered ClorAm-X® and Stress-X™ to remove ammonia, chlorine and chloramines. Do not stop filtration, but remove activated carbon and stop foam-fractionation (protein skimming) and UV sterilization. Shake vigorously before use. Measure Aquarium Solutions® Liquid PraziPro® at the rate of one (1) teaspoon per 20 gallons of water to be treated. (one (1) fl. oz. per 120 gallons) Measure Pond Solutions™ Liquid PraziPro® at the rate of one (1) teaspoon per 32 gallons of water to be treated. (one (1) fl. oz. per 200 gallons) This produces a concentration of 2.5 mg/L. Distribute the proper amount around the edge of the aquarium or pond or directly in to the filter box to achieve the best overall distribution. A single treatment lasting 5-7 days is normally sufficient. Repeat as necessary, but no more than once every 3 to 5 days. May be used as a preventative, at the standard dosage, when disease is likely. Do not use with other drugs or disease treatments. May cause temporary foaming.

Edit: basically, turn your skimmer off!

We leave the skimmer off for about a week, and put it back on when we can babysit it because it can and will go nuts.

Run the carbon for a couple of days before trying to put the skimmer back on, that will help remove any of the remaining medicine.
