What you guys think?

I think if I did a complete in-wall installation without front access, I'd go with an open type aquascape for easier access from behind.....or have some type of top access in the front, like a nice quality hinged panel I could either pull up or push back.

If you sell your house or take the tank down in the future, not much difference between repairing a 72" x 30" hole in the wall vs a 72" x 45" hole.

I had thought about that and decided I'm going to go for the "less is more" approach to the rock work..real open and lots of swimming room..

I would do it that way Dr. Thats the way I have my tank. Along the sides of the tank, I have wine shelving.

i agree. i think for the open plan, with a serious fug/sump setup, you could get away with the less is more idea.

Doc,
That's what Barry said - and I'm a good sport, just silicon greased the suction cups for you guys!

....on our phone convo doc, i wonder if hardwoods wouldnt be the way to go rather than carpet? easier to clean if a accident should happen.

Put it in the wall just cuz you can! Make it pimp man. That Big O TV kickin and then roll your head a little to the right and blamo, a Big O Reef tank in the wall nice and flat. Or should I say Phat?

HAHAHA.. Not the Big O!!

Big tv? where did you see that? I got a tiny one... Trying to talk Jamie into letting me upgrade.. She said something like "I will kill you"

Tiny, no it be Big O, fer sher.

Hoping to use one of the bulkheads in the sump to gravity feed water into the waste line from the house so I can turn a valve and drain X amount of water and pump it back into the sump from a holding tank.. Water change city.. I know a few people here do it somewhat like that..
