whats going on with my starfish??

This guys 3 days new to me , got him at premiere aquatics wednesday , yesterday we noticed a dent on its back this am its splitting open , I figure its either splitting or dieing , but I just wana know what to look for either way.
The 2 legs with exposed bone are still moving about but this just dont look good..

I agree not looking to good. I haven't had good luck with starfish either good luck

From the pic, it almost looks as if something was hosting him (starfish) and came out. Maybe some type of parasite. Just a thought

Do u have a banded coral shrimp also? I had one eat my starfish

:doh: yes I do , it pays no attention to my sand sifter but I don't doubt it . I'll keep an eye on him , but that doesn't explain the dent he had in his head , like it just caved in

Sounds like it had an issue when you got it.

That one is as good as dead.

I had a fromia die and split like that. Have had a healthy blue linkia for ar a year tho. They seem hard to properly acclimate to me. Jmo.
