Got home from work and this is what I found. Never seen this before. Just tested night before last params are solid with nothing else effected.

The first two are now. The last pic is what it did look like.

This is what it looked like yesterday!! For what ever reason I can't seem to post more than one pic at a time.

Edit: This has been a healthy colony with BSP on it since I bought it. I'm thinking possibly something is eating them???

Been out there in the dark with flash light. I don't see anything. Maybe a rx dip is in order

Well that makes me feel better. I wonder who pissed them off. I've had them since May and they have never done this. I'll check water again tomorrow . Thanks guys

Autocorrect on this mobile sucks!! Lol it has somehow learned misspelled words??

Is there signs of it dying?? It looked like there was a sort of necrosis?

pics with daytime bulbs will help. They are def still there- have you never seen them close before?

Sorry I though you said they were dying!

If there is no sign of decay then they are just stressed.

Sry about the autocorrect! :p

That is daylight pics. This rock is amost fully covered in Zoe's. I have never had an issue. None of my other colonies are closed. I have another large rock fully covered that now has a bare spot the size of a silver dollar. I swear I'm thinking that foxface is eating them. I really need to get her out but she is on to my game. She is quick as a bolt of lightning back into the rock work.

hmmm maybe that clove in close proximity

Edit: I'm sure you know this, but a corals goal in life is to take over. Cloves are REALLY REALLY good at it... next in line only to shrooms and gsp

I meant daytime closeup* pic...sorry brother.

looking at it on the laptop I think level drummer is right. They look like they are all there?

The only time I've ever seen Blue Cloves overtake Zoanthids, is when we had a single polyp or two on a frag plug and the cloves took over.

I have never seen the cloves overtake a healthy colony of anything. Usually they surround the other coral and stop.

My first thought was nudibranchs or Zoa Pox, but I can't see any evidence of the Pox on any of the Zoas - they are tiny white dots.

Perhaps a wider angle shot, with what might be slightly below and slightly left of the closed portion of the colony? If you've got something that can put out long sweepers, they could be getting stung or irritated.

It looks like a path across the middle of them. How long have they been closed? Maybe somebody walked across them like a hermit or snail maybe?

Happened overnight? Noticed it when I got home from work

Checked for pox and nudis tonight real well. Took the piece out and went over it with a magnifying glass. I couldn't find anything. I gave them a coral RX dip with a turkey baster. They are really pissed now. I was hoping when I got home from work they would be better. NOT. That when I decided to give them a dip. I don't believe the BSP to be a problem.mit was on the rock when I bought it with only a few Zoe's. The z's have been filling the rock in. It was almost completely covered when the problem started. Checked all params tonight and solid as a rock. My PO4 is at 0...maybe too low.

This is what it looked like before the problem night before last.

Edit: This is now

Do you have any livestock in there that could be nipping? I know that should effect all of them but maybe?

Well I did a RX dip and turkey basted them real well. As of now they look horrible. Even the melons that were growing on the back of my tank that climbed off this rock. I dont know all my other zoes look healthy. Im pissed this was a large colony that was sort of a center piece.

When I dipped it I looked it over real well with a mag glass. No pox or pest that I could see

Did you do 4 caps to a gallon of water? I've forgotten about frags I was dipping (about an hour) and they were fine.
