At first glance I was going to say parasite.. Like isopod but it actually appears to be a cyst or tumor or some other mass of cells. Possibly Lymphocyctis virus.

That appears to be a fungal growth, IMO. But its impossible to say without a closer look and/or diagnositic scrape, etc.
