What's the perfect CUC?

So I have a small CUC in my 29. 2-3 Scarlett crabs, 2-3 Blue Leg, 10 Astrea snails, 5 Cerith snails, 2 Peppermint Shrimp, and 1 Cleaner Shrimp (if that counts). I HATE the crabs, all they do is jump all over all the corals and make them close up, the shrimp are a nightmare when feeding. I have found that snails really don't last that long, what would you have?

Then there's something killing your snails.....I had 15 astrea snails and 3 super Tongan nassarius snails in my tank and only lost two astrea in 2.5 years....but other than that yours seems pretty good.....maybe get a few more cerith....the hermits are very annoying but they do a good job on the algae on the rocks that the snails don't get....and Mexican turbos get so darn big they start knocking over stuff constantly

The crabs will tear up the snails if they ever fall on their back. I think I am just gonna go with much much smaller crabs when I upgrade, these guys are about the size of a quarter each.

Indeed, but don't always stay dwarfs, take the big ones to an lfs and see if they'll trade for smaller, most will bc bigger hermits are easy to move

Big hermits = snail destroyer. I banish then to the sump. I like the peppermints a lot myself.
