whats your favorite wrasse

I like mystery wrasses. They can be a little pricey, but they are pretty cool, rarely cause problems and do well in captivity. They also do not get large. I am on the hunt for one now. Divers Den has one, but I think I will look locally first.

I loved having a sixline. I want another when i can. Yes to the cover... have you watched those guys swim?

Warehouse Chamblee has a beautiful large Lineatusright now. I almost took him home yesterday.

You also need to consider some wrasses are reef safe and others are not. I like the vibrant colors in the flasher wrasses, plus the smaller size and less aggressive temperament. But he'll be the last fish I add.

I'm with Rolo. On my list for my 67 gallon I've got a quartet of McCosker's and a Melanurus Wrasse.

Are all the ones listed Coral safe and invert safe? I am going to add a few to my tank. Do most get along with each other?

Bruce, as a general rule you can mix and match any fairy or flasher wrasses, and all are reef safe. Beyond those, you have to check to see if they are reef-safe.

cool I am going to look at adding 3 to 5. I still have plenty of room. Thank you.

Check this guy out:

A bit expensive, but very cool.

Great list guys. I love all the pics. Any idea how many wrasse would be good in a 120g 4x2x2 with 120g sump?I added the larg sump to make more stable water for a very large bioload .

Certainly with you on that one. Just so hard to get one to adapt to captivity and a large investment to try it out. Awesome fish though. And, that is an awesome photo of one.

Picked a Melanarus wrasse today .It seems to be in heaven with my pod infested tank.:D
