When fragging zoa do you worry more about the heal time or more about how long the zoa takes to replace itself?

I have been testing two method with this in mind. One will allow the propagated coral to open without the hour or even sooner, but the time it takes for me to regain that head is exponentially longer. The other method takes the frag about a week to open, and even than its still fragile, but the colony regrows the sliced off head in about 4 days.

Zoa uses in test were red hornet

I worry more about the fragged zoa.

The colony will produce another head eventually and all will be well. It may take a little longer, but last time I checked, I have plenty of time to let coral grow.

If you cut it and the fragged zoa is fragile and stressed, it is less likely to survive, and unless you are willing to risk a loss, I would play it safe.
