I sit here tonight debating on when enough is enough. Last week when the storms came through lost power for almost 10 hrs check valve failed on my calcium reactor droped my ph down to 7.5 grand total 2 fish and 14 frags lost. Got things back up and going and things where not just looking right. Went and saw Chris at Einstiens Aquatics only to find out my refractometer was off and my salinty was at 1.015 working on getting it back up to 1.026 total loss 3 colonies . Apex energy bar had 2 outlets go bad one of them controls my Kalk reactor so I have had to turn it on and off myself. Turned it on today got distracted left it on , took my ph up to 8.9. total loss so far 4 coloines and 80% of my frags. So when is enough enough. I have been in this hobby since I was 15 now I am 35 . I have never had such bad luck not even as a noobie. As I sit here tonight debating on shutting my system down for good I think of all the good times I have had reef keeping. Just dont know anymore.

So...like all of us you have a little streak of bad luck. Most likely means good times are in sight.
Stay the course!:drive:

I think everyone goes through some bad luck...heck, keeping an ocean in our houses isn't always the easiest thing to do! :)

Hang in there...don't succomb to the challenges. If it were that easy, everyone would have a marine tank and it wouldn't be a hobby anymore.

LMK if you need anything.

got a bad fish and was in a rush so I didnt put it in the QT.....42 fish dead
couldnt get calc reactor tuned up over a month....8 SPS, 5 zoas, 3 LSP and at least 20 frags gone

and thats just in this year.

Shiz happens man, either count it as a learning experience or give up.

Don't feel bad storm got me me too and I lost everything I had well at least within my reef tank. I think 2 frags survived and they are still chillin in beccamc10 tank until I can get a new tank situation figured out but im still here. Take a break hang in there and you will be glad you did

Casper just know that you will never ever have to worry about another person shutting off the breaker again!!!! Hang in there bud it happens in threes, youve had your three.
