Now that I have a 6ft tank, plug location is becoming more important. I've toyed with the idea of mounting the EB8 to the wall just below the top of the tank. I would then have a 2ft long piece of black acrylic covering that section. Good idea? Bad? Where are yours?

Mine are under the stand mounted to the wall in a plastic box that I got from the container store for a buck.

You don't worry about humidity in there?

I have some on the wall in my fish room next to the display tank. One on the wall above my frag tank and one mounted under some tanks but there isn't a sump or anything below that. The EB8 over my frag tank is about a foot up the wall and I never had corrosion problems in the ~2-3 years it has been there.

i made a mounting plate out of plywood, mounted everything on it, painted it to match the room, and screwed it to the wall beside the tank

+1. except mine isn't painted and is behind the tank/stand/sump. I have enough reach for everything and good access. Humidity is not a problem.

I used industrial velcro for the controller EB 8 and display and should have known better. I had it in my shop and figured what the heck. The display is fine, however I'm unhappy the the rest- the velcro holds on great but the adhesive that holds controller and canopy bites. I'll never do it again.

Probably will use detachable sheet of plywood when I but everything together for real.

Behind the far left door of my stand there is a compartment where all electronics components will be mounted. It's still in progress.

as the above poster.. I have a partitioned off area of my stand
that has a separate door that is my DRY area...

ALL my electronics go in there.. whether it is a DC8, a power strip, or vortech brain.

As a couple others ... all my apex components are mounted to plywood in my fish room (18" from ceiling to keep it away from any accidental water contact).
