Where is your RODI?

thanks for all the advice. i've been busy and haven't mounted it yet, maybe this weekend. i was looking for a little help though. i've found that the line on the right is the cold water supply, that is to the house, correct? so i want to mount it above the valve just above the water heater? sorry in advanced for the crappy pic. also any advice on where to feed the waste water?

I would put it above the tee for easier access. If this is the same room as the Washer and Dryer, I would run the waste to the drain pipe for the washer. If not, you could tap it into the one that is the pressure relief line. From the looks of the picture it would be the one running horizontal over the water heater to the tee. If you do that, make sure it is a good solid connection because if the pressure relief valve ever opens the water will be under pressure.

Mine is in my garage and shares the wall with the laundry room. So, I cut an access hole right where the cold water line and drain pipe are for the washing machine. I keep an old HomeMedics fountain pump in the collection container to keep the water moving, and a 50w heater that I use during the winter months.

I tapped into the emergency release line of my hot water heater for my waste water. It runs it outside. Later I put a sump pump outside beneath the overflow line which pumped it to a rain barrel for watering my garden. Unfortunately the pump burned up several months ago when the float stuck.
