I have a black and white clown. hes pretty cool but Im debating on getting a gold stripe maroon clown.

If you do go with the maroons go ahead and get a pair to save yourself the headache of pairing one fish up in the future

if you decide on a GSM clown I have a pair that I will sell you.. should be laying eggs soon.

The maroons get much bigger, much more territorial and can wreak havoc on the substrate and even dislodge rocks....other than that no problems. :)

On the other hand, my black and whites are the smallest fish in my display and they regularly mistake my hand for food regardless of if I'm near "their" area of the tank.

So to Jenn's point.....mostly evil little buggers.

Try forgetting to take off your watch and letting them see their reflection on it.
It's on then

I like these:

I love our Darwin Clowns. They tend to bite if you get near their anemone. It is quite comical to watch my big burly hubby jump when they sneak up and nip him when he's got his hands in the tank. :lol2:

okay i have decided not get the maroon.
but I have another problem. I have a black and white, he is reallky cool. I like him because hes pretty much all black and his white middle stripe doesnt go all the way around.
Ive tried to put a regular orange and white perc in there and he fights them.
but I always fall in love with the orange and whites everytime i go into the stores...
this sucks....cant decided over a fish... haha

i could try to get a bigger one? but I dont want him beating up on the black and white.

i guess i should have made the poll for a short period...looks like the black and white clowns win by a long shot.

Best to add a smaller one since your current fish is already dominant in the tank and if they do not pair up then your current fish will not be harmed.

i dont think it is possible to pair two different color clowns. Which I did not attempt to pair them, I just attempted to see if they would live together peacefully.
which is a no. I think Im going to stick with the black one...Ive had him too long to just get rid of.

Sorry. I skipped that post you made earlier about two totally different kinds.
Cool that you are sticking with the original guy.

Paired up all my Latz and Mccullouchi Clowns by using eggcrate dividers in the tanks, 2 weeks, the super aggression gone, when put back together fought for a day, separated them for a week again, then released them = pick on twice... then live happily ever after.

If it works for $1000-6000 clowns (and $30 maroons) then it should work for $15-30 clowns.

Nice. Chris have you seen those mesh intro boxes for fish? I have been curious about those for a week since I saw them. I think on drF&S.

I was gonna say something about mimes, but I couldn't word it any way that made sense.... so...

MIMES ROCK!
