My kit-kat frag plug design - for all the encrusting sps, zoos, chalice, soft corals lovers out there, All you do to frag is simply snap the portion you want off. The second pic was actually a remake of the first so that it could actually sit perfectly flush on eggcrate.

The following is a large frag plug to use when you have large sps, lps and chalices to mount and you need to maximize space.

Wait, you're making these? The kit-kat design is awesome!

I wish someone offered frag plugs with a much longer stem on the bottom. My problem with every plug I've ever used is that snails, current, etc often times knock them over on the rack. Seems like they'd be harder to knock over if they had a longer stem into the frag rack.

Dustin

I've seen some out there, but can't remember where. So, they're out there.

Brian - appreciate the comments, yeap i've been making these for a while now.

Dustin -yeap long stems will stop the plugs from tipping over but not rotating (unless the stems are square), and i can make these also if there is a demand. But i have invented a plug that actually snaps into place on an eggcrate and so wont rotate or be knocked down. It has a catch release mechanism to be released from the eggcrate when needed.

Jeff / Mark - still in the development stage of making these. Im actually contemplating if i should mass produce these now i have the ability to do so. I was thinking about sending out free samples to my arc family to see what they thought first hand. I'll make sure i send you guys out some to review if you like. My first batch should be cured and ready to go in about 4 weeks if i decide to go into production.

Update- cant believe its been almost a year since i started on these... Well im ready to launch my new coral frag plugs and wanted some input from the arc community for further development. I decided to go with injection moulded plugs for the time being for various reasons. Will be posting soon on how to get your free samples.

Man, id love to try these, especialy the rocks that the plugs fit into and the kit kat style. Nice work!

what do you use to make the plugs? (plaster?) I assume it's not portland cement...

Trade secret ;). Mostly aragonite with other compounds thrown in. The ones im manufacturing right now are injection moulded plastic. Ready to use straight out of the bag. They've been around, just not too well known about...Im revamping it and re-marketing it. Its hopefully going to be a stepping stone for some other ideas and products ive been tinkering with. I decided to use none of the above designs (for now)..I wanted to bring something new into the market.

The kit kat pattern is great... esp for montis, favia, etc. Really not going to make those?

The kit-kat design still needs some development for mass production. I'll be working on it some more, but right now my efforts are on my new frag plug. Dave and Hanin have been working on my sponser account, as soon as i get things set up i'll announce my new design..
