Which powerhead for my tank

I have 125G reef tank 6ft long and need to know what powerheads I need to purchase for the tank. I was looking into the Koralia powerheads but which one? Unless there is another powerhead around the price range as the koralias that work really well.

not really the korilia is good but there is no comparision to a vortech.

How much you need depends on your rock work. I've got two Korilla 1400s, which you can pick up used for about $30 each compared to 10x that for Vortechs. I have very open rock work, so I'd say two is the minimum.

I know thats right!!!! They really are worth it though. I dont have any experiance with any of the larger korilias but the smaller ones I've used did good for what they were. Really with the vortech your paying for software that works flawlessly and awesome CS, They pretty much replaced my whole mp10 no questions asked. When you are able to get one GFI because you'll love it. I wish I could afford a couple of mp40s.

I used 2 Koralia model #5 in my 125gal tank , with NO problems , & using them now in my 210gal with a #7

I used two k4's with my 75 and now run two vortechs and two k 1450's in my 150...

I've got the K1400s two pointing opposite directions, kind of diagonally across the tank. They are controlled by my Apex. One is on a 5 minutes on/off cycle, and one is on a 6 minute cycle, so that they give variable currents in the tank over time. With both on, they wear down the sand bed in the front center of the tank. I do have low flow spots in the back on either end of the tank, low down between the overflows and the side glass, so I'm considering putting a small Korilla on either side there just to keep detritus from accumulating.

if you're looking for constant flow powerheads, look at the Tunze powerheads.. their quality is second to none (I've had Korelias and after a couple weeks, their performance was drastically reduced)..

Tunze has several powerheads that are non controllable that will hold their flow performance and they look great in a tank..

I like my Tunzes but they have difficulty starting the correct direction. I would not consider using them on a controller but then I purchased mine slightly used. What about Sicces? I have heard great things about them for the price...

I like vortechs, I need a few more. Group buy with meeeeee
