Which powerheads for reef?

Sorry....they're actually Hydor Flo Deflectors (
a> I believe Koralia also makes one. They fit on the outlet tube of a MJ and the flow drives a gear on the inside which rotates the deflector. You can find them on eBay for $11.95 plus shipping. A LFS that I was recently in was selling them for $25. The owner told me his cost was about $16 on them.

Pretty much. I have one on a MaxiJet 900. According to the sheet it came with, it brings down the gph to about 300-400. But it does give you different directions for the water to move instead just one stream.

I bought it on a whim. It's ok IMO.

I bought three of the the SureFlow 1600/Maxijet 1200 combos. They should arrive in about a week. I don't have a specific plan for the corals yet but I don't plan anything too complicated. Moderate flow should be fine.

Thanks.

Keep an eye on the Sureflow mods. I have one in an inline mixing tank and another in the 120 gal sump. Mine seem to seize up (sometimes running backwards) every few months and require a vinegar bath. They can get quite warm when seized. I have been tempted to try the Ecomod version to see if it is build any better than the Sureflow.
