He didn't eat today (for the first time) and I noticed this long white string attached to him.

He is still swimming around a good bit, but has been a little bit more lethargic than usual.

Any idea what this could be? My levels are all within normal parameters and the other fish in the tank are doing well.

Edit: After doing more research, I am told it is an internal parasite.

What do you think is the best fix for this? There are currently no corals in the tank (only the anemone and 2 other fish). This is my first time dealing with any sort of disease in any of my tanks :(

treat him for brookynella. That is what happened to my clownfish (white string poo), and then he died 3 days later. Also, it might affect other fish in your tank. Did you get any new fish lately? Did you quarantine them?

Oh no. What is the best treatment for brookynella? What can I do so it doesn't infect the other fish? I need to pick something up tomorrow because I don't want to see this guy go.

I recently picked up a radiant wrasse and I did not QT him... but the place where I got it QT's all their fish. And the wrasse appears as healthy as can be. All of the other fish are eating fine currently.

Edit: Should I do a fresh water dip now? Since he won't get any treatment until tomorrow night?

FW dip is useless for internal parasites. Treat the whole tank with prazipro asap. It's reef safe, but you need to turn your skimmer and carbon off.

It sounds more like an internal parasite than brookynella. I am going to grab some prazipro tomorrow and treat it.

Thanks guys! If anyone has any further advice or experience with this... please let me know!
