My new goal in life is to somehow acquire a White Tang! I realize that the odds of finding one let alone affording one is probably a pipe dream. For the heck of it how much do you suppose these gorgeous fish cost?

I thought I read somewhere that the whites typically end up yellow in the long run?... did I forget to take my meds today?

Yup... Jorge from pure reef authenticated it. Has light hlle but for that price Im happy with the purchase!

Great pickup. Problem with mutant colored tangs is that they can change color in captivity. Happened to one that PureReef got in I think. If a white one is a true albino that won't be a problem. Albino strains of Discus are all the rage now, and if you feed an albino FW fish foods with orange colorants in it, you get a yellowy orange albino.

here is the thread, I guess contact Oz and see if he still has the pics somewhere

Expect to pay several thousand.....if you ever find one. They are very in demand, and theres a lot of eccentric fish owner that are waiting, cash in hand, all over the world. And, as suggested, sadly, they often do revert back to their typical yellow coloration.

Who was the guy on RC?

Can't remember exactly, but it was posted yesterday in a thread asking for picture of exotic fish people have in their tanks. I believe I saw you commenting on this thread years ago jmaneyapanda, it's been open for awhile.

I need someone to explain how they take pictures of their tanks? I recently bought a Cannon Rebel for this very purpose (that and I needed a good camera) thinking it was easy as that. Sadly I've found I still can not take a picture worth a **** =( I have one of him under my thread "DawgFace's 190g low iron...." I'll attach it here until I can get a better one.

I was just at WWC on Tuesday. Their white tang actually appeared to have a little bit of yellow on it's anal and caudal fin...not completely white IMO

Lol I bumped that thread saying great things about jeremys tank and his beautiful angel.

Just give it a year or so. That being said, I think they may have two of them. One has more yellow.

They had 2 the last time I was there but that was 10 months ago (October last year). One was white, the other was yellow and white. Gorgeous fish. I don't recall a price - or even if they were for sale, I just admired them and didn't inquire.

I'd think they'd go for the price of a decent new car though.
