I have a Seriatopora birdsnest coral frag and it was doing really well. I had to be away from home for 4 days. My fish were being fed and I told them to make sure the coral was in place but they "forgot". It was wedged onto the top of some of my LR but my snails knocked it over (I need to secure it to the rock, I know, I'm getting stuff to do so within the week).

Well, just some of the tips have gone white. The rest is "closed up" but appears fine. Will it be alright and come back from this? And should I do anything to remove the dead tips?

Was it stung by any other corals? Should be fine and come back. Are you sure it's not just new growth? Have the rest of the polyps extended since you put it back in place? Can you post a pic?

It's my first and only coral so far. The coral is pink, and a few of the tips went as white as white can be. It fell down and those tips were in the sand. I only put it back in place a few hours ago.

Post pictures. Sometimes when coral falls on the sand and.turns white its due to lack of light.

Those few tips may not survive, but it should not affect the rest of the coral, as it grows, it will eventually grow over those areas. IMHO.
You can also cut off the tips just below the white area (like pruning plant) and it will put out additional branches from that cut. Either way I believe it will be OK.

yea it looks like those tips are gone but nothing to worry about the rest looks healthy btw thats a nice specimen you have it looks like ora hyacinth

I would take bone cutters (large toenail clippers) and cut the dead part away, where you cut away new growth wii start.:). Holley

Ha yeah I know there are small white tips on the ends that are supposed to be there, if you look at it in person though, you can tell what's growth and what's dead
