just wondering who else got a mille frag yesterday from the give away. it was looking pretty rough when i put it my tank yesterday. today the polyps were extended but no color at all. im hope it will pull through. did anyone see it before it was cupped, im just wondering if someone knows what color it was.

Would someone post pictures of the corals included in the freebies. It doesn't have to be actual pictures. I'm just trying to figure out what they are supposed to look like.

One of mine has green polyps, the other has no color yet, and I haven't noticed any polyp extension. The lps are doing great.

my other SPS are doing good, still a little upset. the LPS are all very nice.

We had some losses of sps (rtn), and ended up ordering more colonies to make up for them. Seth may have some idea of what all we ended up giving out, but I have no idea what all we actually ended up with. It's very difficult keeping track of hundreds of different coral frags for an extended period, while being moved multiple times.

Glad the LPS were a hit. I especially enjoyed cutting those up. We experimented a bit with the mounting, and ended up shaving each plug flat with the bandsaw to get better adhesion. I only wish we had ordered more of them...
...hmmm, maybe next time! :D

I don't know about Seth and Gary, but I'm exhausted.

We appreciate the effort you guys put in!

As for my sps freebies I have one that definitely has some polyp extension, one that I think it does but it's hard to tell, and couple that I'm just not sure about. I found homes high up for most of them last night and adjusted the light schedule to be more intense after a couple days of low intensity light. Hoping everything pulls through.

I hope mine make it. I had all of mine free and purchased in a cooler. Got a little slime from all of them but they seem to be coming around slowly. Fingers crossed. I have a lot of rock to cover when the 100 gets up and running.

Edit: red

I don't recall seeing any milli's come in. There were a couple of pocillopora's. The description all of you are giving would fit.

We tried to order a good bit more LPS on the second order but it didn't come.

I wish I could have spent the day in bed. I still had fun with our speakers taking them around town.

Millepora, guaranteed

I remember it now. It did have a yellowish hue in the bag. One of the less colorful specimens on the shipment. FWIW- The acro's were all from Tonga.

So, first acro frags for me. They were all pretty white when I got them home. Is that normal? When I turned the lights up some showed a little color.

FWIW, my lighting is LED, CREE. Should I keep them dim for a few days to allow the corals to acclimate to the lights or should I blast them?

Corals were temp acclimated when I got them home, put into a cup with some collective water from the sample cups, and then dripped for 15-30 minutes.

Thanks for the advice guys!

There will be a lot of "white" acro frags out there but not to worry. Think of a dense acro colony. A lot of the inner part is shaded from the light and doesn't have the color that the tips of the colony has. When we cut up the whole colony, half or more of the frags will look pale or white. They will color up. Slower for those with LED's I think. I would start them out in a lower light area and move them up.

thats pretty much what i did. you could start them a little lower in the tank. i've got a cree par LED bulb and my acros are starting to get color in them today, some more than others. it may take a week or more to color up.

Thanks Seth. I'll be more than patient with them.

By the way, thanks for all of your work on this!

I kind of spread mine out all over the place in the hopes I'd set one of them up right :D. I'll be attaching them to frag plugs this afternoon.

Little off topic. For zoas do people just use string to attach them to plugs? Fishing line? Or is super glue ok?

It was no sweat. We should do it once a month!

I've used all the above with success.
