Who has clams?

The clam in my avatar is under LEDs and doing quite well. Actually it has better color on the mantles the when it was under the MH

Sadly, I think my clam is dead. It looked as if it was opening a little more all week. I just noticed that it was open more, but without the lights on. Then I noticed sever hermits on it. When i touched it with a setof tongs it did not respond. It has been snapping shut all week anytime anything got near.

I'm clueless as to what could have happened. Does anyone know if there is some other uncommon parameter that should be checked if you have a clam? I hate losing anything, and this is an expensive loss.

They are sensitive to acclimation and things bothering them.

If the mantle is not fully extended most of the day (too much light, too much flow, critters touching) they will slowly grow weaker until they die.

Never had success with Maximas. This derasa has been easy though.
