Who here works on chillers?

John, getting a look at his tank alone would be worth the trip out to Cumming. hehehehehe David, can you give me an idea of what is wrong with it? I have a lot of electrical and limited refrigeration experience. It may be that I could help depending on what is wrong with it. I just don't have the access to the refrigeration parts if it turns out to be on that end. If it is electrical I could probably muddle through.

I'm pretty sure he needs a part, maybe a solenoid. but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure he might be able to describe the part to John and he might have 1 laying around he could send to David?
but then again I could be completely off base with what's wrong with it...lol

If it is on the refregeration side that would be a problem for me because you would lose all the freon when you change the part. That would mean a recharge and I don't have access to the freon and no longer have a set of guages. But if it is on the water side, then that is a different story. Should be able to find a solinoid at Grainger or one of the local refrigeration supply houses.

Looks to me to be a relay. The nomenclature is a bit different (European is my guess) but if I am reading it right, it has a 110 volt coil with normally open contact rated at 40 amps and normally closed contact rated at 30 amps.

Heath, you should be able to find something similar at Grainger. Doesn't have to be built the same but just have those ratings and fit the available space.

Edit: Also, the contact ratings can be higher than listed on this one but just don't go lower. But then I suspect you know that. hehehehehe

+1 here. It is a relay. Should be abl to get one at any grainger or other parts place. I don't have any with a 110v coil. I have 24v and 208v/230v

At 40 amp rated contacts you may need to go with a definite purpose contractor. Nothing wrong with that except for the size. They are larger than this. If you are in a pinch and need this ASAP run to Grainger off I-85 near the junction and get a DP Contractor and a 6"x 6" PVC junction box. You can mount it remote and route the wiring through an offset nipple or chase nipple. May not look the best but would get you cooling again.
