Member since 2007. Moved to AK for a few years, so I have been off the forum for a while.

I am moving back to Atlanta in a few months, so I jump back on here to check things out, and I can't post to The Lounge?

Maybe my profile got moved over to inactive?

Help would be appreciated.

Hey, only ARC members can post in the lounge.

Looks like they got you covered on the answers. Welcome back! =)

Did you see how fancy the couches are in there?! We can't just let anyone in there...

The lounge is setup for members to discuss topics outside of reefing. It's another perk of maintaining a paid membership within our community. :)

that's pretty silly, discussing non reef subjects is a perk? Why not open it up to attract conversations from new people, unless the only common interest we want to have with one another is reef related. I guess that's why I don't have many friends here, the limited scope of any relationship to anyone is reef related and reefing isn't my life...

Elite? Hmmm, ok. Upon my request as President at the time, I lobbied and got you lifetime membership status for what you did for the club as an admin over a very short period of time. There are plenty of others who contributed as much or more without the same perk. I appreciate what you did for ARC.

Enjoy the lounge chair you don't pay for like the rest of ARC members.

This is a Club that just so happens to have an online forum. The reef topics related forum is open to all and welcome to all to exchange information and reefing related dialog. If you want to come and talk about other things, it's limited to club members. Otherwise, go sign up for Facebook.

Prior to this being a Members only forum, it was used by non-members as a place to incite provocative discussion that paid members frankly had no patience for. It was a dumping ground for spam, for sale ads, and things that people who had "no skin in the game" wanted to post in. If you think the lounge attracts people who are focused on our mission statement, then, you've clearly never read it.

Love this attitude. Was this the same attitude that has driven the club to where it is today?

I'm not here to make friends, nor get information, because the information on this board is lacking. I paid my dues to sell a few things and that's it. There are better online boards for reef conversations and you can get a broader spectrum of views and better conversations.

ARC will keep doing what it is doing until its dead, because you know... change is bad. LOL

Never mind the cappuccino machine....

I'm in it for the Margarita machine.

That's a joke. You're participation here says otherwise.

While I did appreciate the gesture, I also declined it... it wasn't until the BOD pushed you to give it to me anyway (Raj mainly).
If by 'very sort period of time' you mean the 5 years I have been admin, than so be it. Time is relative anyway.

And thanks, I do enjoy my lounge chair. It gives me a chance to try and re-iterate my point of how this club has changed over the years, for the worst IMO. And I do try to inject some logic ever so often but unfortunately there nothing here but deaf ears...
