Why Have a FW Barrel in a Mixing Station?

Two brutes... Salt and RODI... In the garage. I haul in 20-25 gallons a week to keep the ATO full.

Where did you get that 160 gallon barrel?
I bought it off former Member James77 back in 2012. I think that was his screen name.

I keep 30 gallons of fresh on hand at all times just so that I can refill my ATO reservoirs ASAP, rinse buckets, testing supplies, clean my glass, etc..
Plus, if needed, I can mix up 30 gallons of salt in less than an hour.

Overkill? Maybe.
Does it cause harm? Not yet.

I have dual 200g tanks for my mixing station. One fresh one salt.

I use both because my various ATO's run off it, I use it for salinity adjustments but more so its so I can have 400g of water on hand if anything big happens I can do a 100% water change in under an hour by using the 200g already mixed and mixing a new 200g batch.
