Will different encrusting montipora get along?

If I put a few different encrusting montipora (purple haze, superman, chili) on the same rock, when they eventually grow together, will they fight and kill each other, or will they get along?

Tagging. I've been thinking about trying get a few different types to encrust on an old plate skeleton.

They technically will not sting each other, I have several on a rock. The issue lies when one grows on top of another.

The ones I have just grew until they met, and kind of stopped. They seem to be getting along without one "winning".

depends, I have 4 growing together, sometimes they just stop, sometimes one grows over the other(kinda plating style), sometimes one kills some of another and overgrows it.

Purple haze seems to like to plate over stuff, forest fire seems to loose most of the time.

Think of coral like relationships, the pretty ones are the men, and will almost always loose in a fight to the other ones

Yeah, I had a "poker star" kill a "forest fire" when they touched. I thought they'd do OK, within a couple days the "forest fire" colony was dead.
