will radium's work on a pfo magnetic ballast?

Just looking to replace the xm's 400 watters. I love the look of the radium 250 watt's on my other tank. I have been told the magnetic pfo ballast may not work. Can anybody tell me any different?

I was told by a wise man: pulse start or electronic ballasts. My magnetic ballast will not fire a radium.

In that case, What should be my next bulb of choice? What would you guys run?

My experience is even electronic has issues with radium. Have you tried blueline?
