anybody have one? are they as bad at getting out as snowflakes and dragon eels? How do you like yours?

Wofl eels are more active compare to any other eels. Getting out of the tank is not something I have problem with

They are eels. And are evil evil fish. They will eat anything from shrimp to fish 10 times bigger.

Actually, Wolf Eels aren't really eels at all. They are a member of the dottyback family.

Congrogadus subducens. Page 109 of Scott Michael's Pocket Expert Guide to Marine Fishes.

In my experience with them, they have very keen eyesight, unlike eels.

"Not a threat to sessile invertebrates, but will make short work of crustaceans and small fishes." (from the book)

I'd agree with that assessment.

I had done for over a year. I never had any issues as long as I kept him fed well

Really best in a very aggressive tank. They can be a PITB and are fairly aggressive. Plus, they are not near as cool as a nice peaceful zebra.

i would love a zebra.. but ive never seen a small one

I've seen a small zebra eel but most of the ones that come into the trade are a fair size.

One of our maintenance customers has one that we brought in I forget how many years ago... one guy had it for a few years, traded it back in and it resides in a 180 now. Mellow creature but it's about 4' long and thick as a phone book. :) His name is Mr. Zee.

ok those look awesome! apparantly they are super expensive :( I was at Blue Planet yesterday and they had a garden eel i think? The tiny kind that burrow in the sand and pop their heads out? Ive never seen one before.. unfortunatly it was already sold. I wonder how difficult those are... ive never even heard of anyone having one before.
