One more piece of advice... Allot of people make a PVC tunnel under the substrate for the mantis to live in. Not sure if I mentioned that or not...

hmm ok, i went to check out where i wight put one in her tank, just to realize she has moved quite a bit of sand around. she now has made 2 little houses in caves i made from the live rock. She really is a cool little critter, i think i found a new aquatic addiction lol. pulled off my first hand feed last night too!! although im still waiting to get a good thwacking from those clubs, just as long as its not the spikes.

Playing with fire.... their nickname is "thumb splitters". it's not the punch what gets you, it's that sharp spike that will make a one inch cut. but good luck I love those little guys! I dont hand feed mine...lol

LOL dang...you guys are making me rethink this. nut in the long run i know i will have her hand tamed. i wont be like the idiots on you tube taunting the creature. and besides, ive dealt with far worse in the critter department. but still wish me luck.
