ok, it's gonna sound a little mean (but hey, it's what I do best)..

I've been trying to get a golden head sleeper out of my tank now [since about 3 days after I put him in there].

he's not been spotted for over a week.. I'm sure that he dug a tunnel and it somehow collapsed on him or he otherwise got buried (possibly a conspiracy set in motion by the other fish in my tank)..

all he ever did was cover all my other fish in sand.. (I know he was a sifter, but I thought he'd stay lower in the tank)..
he'd grab a mouth full of sand, then proceed to swim at least 12" up from the bottom and sift all over all the other corals and fish..

I'm not sorry he's gone..

i would have put him in my other tank (FO) but I just couldnt get the little sucker out..

My diamond does that sometimes. just decides to move as much sand as possible onto the top of the rocks....

If he was healthy and didn't die just because smotimes that happens with new fish, he may still be hanging out under the sand. My diamond goby would do that sometimes and then just show up again.

The trade off of course is your sand stays clean clean clean if you find him and don't want him I need one for my 70 :-)

i DONT miss him.. but anytime I was anywhere near the tank he was the first to go deep in the rocks (I'm never tearing my tank apart for any fish, ya know)

you're right.. but I haven't seen anything from him in over a week now.. (I lost a bar goby that way.. they just dug a hole & a rock shifted I guess.. later i found his skeleton..)

If I could have caught him... I would have put him in my other tank.. i didn't want him to die.. but I'm not upset that he's gone..
