my tank has been up and running for 7 years and i have a problem that i need advice on, my overflow is full of hardtube worms. i don't mind them in the tank but they have restricted the flow of the overflow, anything i can soak it in like say "limeaway" or something that would dissolve the tube without hurting the overflow? any suggestions would be great, if i only knew more when i started the tank would have been drilled and no overflow used.

Vinegar. Soak in straight vinegar for an hour, and you should be able to wipe them off with a sponge.

Yep... when I bought my RR 90, the overflow had so many that once I got them loose there were almost two inches in the bottom. :yuk: Vinegar did the trick to get them off the walls.

I used about a 1:8 part vinegar:water solution running through my used skimmer when I first got it... (recirculating in a bucket)

after about 4 hours.. the skimmer looked brand new..
