Came home and one of my oldest fish was no longer alive. Little more depress now

Sorry to hear about that. But looking at your picture, it does raise some concerns on my end. I do have a couple of MP40's. Do I have to worry about the same situation?

IMO, most fish that end up on a vortech pump are not killed by the pump. I believe that most are dead or sickly or something causing them to not be a strong swimmer and they end up on the pump. When this happend to me, my heater fried some of my fish and when my pumps when to nutrient transport that is where the carcases ended up

I'd say he was gone, or on his way out before ending up in the power head. But still... It's a loss, and I feel for you. These little guys do seem to find a place in you heart.

I don't know what happened has them for the longest time. I don't even know if I wantto replace it yet. My life is the definition of Murphy's law right now. Nothing is going right

Thanh, after working construction for 30+ years I have learned one very important thing. Murphy was an optimist. I know it is hard to take but from all I have heard, you do a pretty %$#@ good job keeping a tank. Could have just been his time to go. Don't let it get in the way of something you are passionate about.

Rofl, fail attempt at a cheer-up.

FWIW I found my blue jaw trigger up against my vortech at home last week. He was dead before he ever hit the vortech I presume.

Sorry for your loss.

My tangs have had their incidents with trying to eat off the vortechs before.
