Would it be safe to put clowns together?

In setting up my 180....I have two different pairs of clowns....I have one pair of Picassos and another pair of regular Ocillaris. They've never been together before as they were in seperate tanks. Since they've never been together before, would it be safe to put all 4 of them in at the same time?

has each pair attached to an anemone? I've seen success with people with that size tank by putting the respective anomones on each side of the tank. I started my tank with 4 OC but there was an attempted lynching and I took one back to the store. Now have 3 and they get along fine in my 110. There was a period where another lynching almost occured but they worked it out. I think they are all sexually confused though lol.

Surely you already know the answer? It's not good to put different pairs together. When they are sexually mature (2yrs) trouble will most likely start. I, too, have seen some people have limited success in large tanks with the pairs in different zones.

Just let me know if you need to rehome a pair Jeff, I'd be glad to take either pair of your hands if that's what you decide.

Yeah...I did know the answer. I guess I was just hoping not to have to decide on which pair to keep. LOL. The Picassos are a younger pair. I had them in the 180 for a day and they can't seem to find the GBTA even after placing them right up against it. They were just laying together on the sand this morning and I got a little scared.

Great! One pair will likely need a good, new home. I just don't know which ones yet. I'm hoping to keep the Picassos but I'm not sure yet.

Jeff: Your friends may just want a mushroom for their new home instead of a GBTA. A plain clay pot or large piece of PVC pipe may even be a better choice. Just my: [2 and a half cents].
