My tank is filling out and I have a lot of life crawling on the rocks, so I am deciding on adding another fish or two. I have asked this on other sites and been told that my tank is too small to house any wrasse, so I wanted others' opinions. If it is too small then I will just go a different way with the fish I have.

Tank is a JBJ 30g rimless (I am making a mesh top). Plenty of live rock. Currently, I have two small Onyx Clowns. 2'' and 1.5'' respectively. No other fish, only hermits, 2 turbos, and margarita snails.

I was curious about the following Wrasse. I know that I will not be able to house all of these, they are just some that I picked off of Live Aquaria's website and that I have seen housed in smaller tanks before.

-Mystery
-McCosker's flasher
-Carpenter flasher
-Hooded fairy
-Red Velvet fairy

If these are a no go, then I will go another route, but I would really enjoy one in my tank.

Barry, one from that list above is all I am wanting. I re-read my post and I may have worded it inappropriately, I certainly know that I cannot have multiple in my tank.

I was planning on one of the above, a pair (or single) purple firefish, and my clowns as the only fish.

Here is a horrible iPhone picture of my current tank. I will get the point and shoot for some better quality pictures to put in another thread.

Anyone of these world be ok, except te mystery I'd kinda mean.

Thanks Ralph,

I believe I am going to scratch the Mystery off my list because of size and temper issues. No need in pushing the envelope with one.

I know some consider 6-line's to be the devil in fish form but it's worth consideration if it will be the last fish added to your tank. I have a BC29 with two clowns, tailspot and YWG, and a 6-line added in that order. Mine has been a model citizen for 6+ months but honestly that's not saying much time wise. Its a gorgeous fish though that now swims to the glass when I'm there and checks me out. It also brought the clowns and tailspot out more.

I have the red sea 34 gallon and i have the pink or cryptic wrasse on my list. I think you will find this to be a good option for you in a small reef tank.

Good luck
